    Education and Human Services

As actively engaged participants, students in the BA in Early Childhood Education learn about essential principles and theories of pedagogy and child development and engage in supervised learning experiences to integrate and apply their knowledge. Students will learn strategies for facilitating growth and development in cognitive development and motor skills, language and psychosocial learning, tailoring learning to the cultural needs of all children and appreciating what each child and family has to offer.

  • B.A. Human Development
    Education and Human Services

The B.A. in Human Development program is designed to give students an interdisciplinary understanding of human development from birth through end of life.

Students will be taught the biological, sociological, emotional, and psychological factors that contribute to individual development. They will learn to make connections between these factors and the impacts that each factor can have on an individual's skills and progress as it relates to problem solving, language acquisition, personality, and identity formation, and social and emotional maturation.

Pacific Oaks' hallmark commitment to social justice, advocacy, and respect for diversity and individual potential are integral parts of the B.A. Human Development program.
